Window & Patio Screen Rescreening in Pinellas County
Quick answer: Sailer Window Repairs rescreens torn, sagging or punctured window screens and sliding patio screen doors, and builds new custom screens when a frame is too bent to save. We serve all of Pinellas County and western Hillsborough, on-site or through drop-off at our Clearwater shop (Mon–Fri, 7am–2pm). Call (727) 447-4250 or send photos of your screens through our quote form.
What is rescreening?
Every screen has two parts: the frame and the mesh. Rescreening means keeping your existing frame and replacing the mesh (we use Phifer screening), plus the spline (the cord that holds the mesh in) and any small parts that are worn. When the frame is straight and solid, rescreening is usually all a screen needs.
Rescreen or get a new custom screen?
Rescreening makes sense when:
- the mesh is torn, punctured or sagging;
- the spline has dried out or popped loose;
- small parts like tabs, pulls or springs are missing;
- the frame is straight and lies flat.
A new custom screen makes more sense when:
- the frame is bent, twisted or broken at the corners;
- the screen is missing;
- you want a different screen type, like solar or security screening.
Not sure? Lay the screen on a flat surface. If it rocks or twists, the frame is bent. A photo of the whole screen and a close-up of the damage lets us tell you which way we'd go.
What can you rescreen?
- Single-hung, double-hung, casement and sliding window screens
- Screens for arched and other hard-to-fit windows
- Sliding patio screen doors
- Standard, solar and security screens
When a new screen is the better choice, we build it in-house from frame materials made in the USA, in white, bronze or mill finish, with custom colors on request. See custom window screen replacement.
On-site or drop-off?
Both work. We offer mobile, on-site screen service, or you can drop off screens at 14525 62nd St N #1, Clearwater, Monday to Friday, 7am to 2pm, and pick them up when they're ready. If you'd rather do it yourself, we also supply screen frame, screening, tabs, pulls, tension springs, locks, handles and rollers at the counter.
How much does rescreening cost?
It depends on the size and number of screens, the type of screening and whether any frames need replacing. Send photos and rough measurements, and we'll give you an accurate quote.
Common questions
Can you rescreen my sliding screen door?
Yes. We repair and rescreen sliding patio screen doors. If the door frame is too far gone, we make custom replacement doors in-house.
Can I switch to solar screening when I rescreen?
Ask us when you request a quote. We work with standard, solar and security screens and will tell you what fits your frames.
How should I bring screens in?
Label each screen with the window it came from, then drop them off at our Clearwater counter, Monday to Friday, 7am to 2pm.
