What is the HURRICANE screen door?

It's the sliding patio screen door we design and build ourselves. Sailer Window Repairs manufactures custom screen doors, window screens and parts, and the HURRICANE is our own heavy-duty sliding screen door. Each one is built to order.

What is it made of?

  • Frame: .060" extruded aluminum
  • Hidden screw channel: a built-in screw channel hidden in the door frame, so the door won't come apart or bend when twisted
  • Latch: a metal locking latch assembly
  • Rollers: Delrin ball-bearing rollers
  • Finish: white, bronze or mill finish, with custom colors available on request

Why does the frame construction matter?

A sliding screen door gets pushed, pulled and bumped every day, often by kids and pets heading out to the patio or pool. A door that twists can come apart at the corners or start dragging. The HURRICANE's hidden screw channel is there so the door holds together and doesn't bend when it's twisted. Ball-bearing rollers help it roll along the track.

Our sliding screen doors are made to your specifications and fit most door frames. We can replace your sliding screen door right at your house. If your opening is unusual, send a photo and we'll tell you what we can do.
